Audio: Hearing and Speaking

Druplinars include live audio for all attendees. Currently, the instructions depend on which operating system you are using.

Live audio on Windows

If you use Windows, the WebEx software supports live audio directly. Your computer needs:

  • a supported sound card
  • sound driver
  • speakers or headphones
  • a microphone

You can determine whether your computer supports Internet phone by creating a short voice recording using Windows Sound Recorder. On Windows XP, go to the Start menu > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder. If you can record and play back your own voice, you can use Internet phone during a training session.

When you join the Druplinar session in WebEx, you will receive an invitation to join the VOIP audio conference.

Live audio on MacOS X and Linux

Unfortunately, WebEx does not yet support live audio on MacOS or Linux (they expect to resolve this problem soon). Instead, MacOS X and Linux users can join a free Skypecast that carries the audio for the seminar. Make sure that you have a current version of Skype installed and that you are logged in to your Skype account. Instructions for joining the Skypecast will be provided when you join Druplinars seminar.
